One of my girls laid this:
As you can see it weighted in at 121 grams. If I had a carton of them it would way one and half kilograms. Is that X-Large or XXXX-Large? Unfortunately it is still short of the world record of 201 grams laid by a Chinese hen in 2009. Now that's got to hurt.
It was a double yolker that later made a very nice beetroot cake.
That's funny, Jason. i wrote a post...almost exactly the same -title and all, when one of my girls dropped a double yolker last year. LOL
ReplyDeleteHazel what do they say... brilliant minds think a like.
ReplyDeleteOuch! That's a whopper.I'm curious as to why a chook would suddenly lay one gigantic double yoker. I think this requires some research!
ReplyDeleteWhoah! Poor chookie, that's all I gotta' say 'bout that one!
ReplyDeleteserendipity2000 I wonder if it is the same as a human having twins?
ReplyDeleteWow! That is enormous, I think our largest so far was only just over 100g! I'll bet there was a lot of noise in the dome that morning! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have 10 chickens and one of the poor girls pops a double yoker once a week - ouch!
