Anyone got any idea what it is? At least take a guess at what it will taste like. I will award the winner a virtual star after I cut open its head and eat its brains.
And someone please get it off the couch.
I am excited about the coming weekend, we are having a permablitz. The garden will be completely renevated based on Linda Woodrow's mandala design. So stay tuned...
Yellow cobra zucchini
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute zuke!!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen one like that! I hope it tastes as interesting as it looks!
It does have some properties that resemble a Zucchini, although I might even go as far as saying it is a Melon of some sort that was planted to compact and therefore grew where the soil was softest, hence the shape.
ReplyDeleteI think it will taste bitter, very very bitter, however i wouldn't want to cut it up to find out. I would keep it the way it is, name it Frederick and then tuck it into bed next to me each night.
We named it Mr Zucchini, but I am happy to change his name to Frederick just for you. As his pimp it will cost you if you want to take him to bed.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a crookneck zucchini to me....I think it will be delicious but it looks so good I think I would let it dry and keep it.
ReplyDeleteA stiff neck indeed. I have never seen it put it's big head down to rest. Keeping it did cross my mind but I have got to find out what it is. Happening soon.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a tromboncini gone wrong, or could be a cross between a crook neck and a tromboncini?
ReplyDeleteI think it will taste fine if you can bring yourself to eat Mr Zucchini.
Thanks greenfumb. The problem is I don't know if you are all serious with name suggestions or just being funny. I thought Kate was being clever with her suggestion of crook neck but now I think you are talking about real vegetables.
ReplyDeleteHi Jason, thanks for visiting my blog & taking the time to comment.I have linked this particular post to my FB page.
ReplyDeleteTromboncini would be my guess, not one I have grown but I think all squashes can cross pollinate?!
I had a discussion awhile ago, I think with Scarecrow, that zucchinis and pumpkins are related. I assume that means you can get some strange combinations. Please correct me if I am wrong.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the link Peggy.
LOL!! '...I think you're talking about real vegetables' :D
ReplyDeleteYour golden cobra with a crook neck from trombone playing is a very fine vegetable indeed - did it taste any good? :)
Thanks Mrs Bok, your comment is very nicely done. I have tasted it I will blog about it very soon.
ReplyDeleteThis would have to be the funnies blog i have ever read.
ReplyDeleteI cant decipher wether the names are humorous or real either Jason.
If they are real, my question is...who comes up with these funny names in the first place. :-)
amydingley thanks. I was hoping it would be entertaining. And good question. Obviously gardeners have a good sense of humour.
